Charming new PSCE display

A new exhibit has opened in the Morton Library of wonderful historic photographs of the PSCE Demonstration Kindergarten, in honor of Josephine Newbury (1952-1974).

Prof. Newbury was a leader in innovative early childhood education and the weekday church school.  She helped to train 467 women and men who completed the PSCE Student Teaching Program at the Center.

Come and see these delightful photos, displayed with vintage toys from that era.  The display is found in the big glass display cases in the Morton Library entrance hall, and inside in the flat glass display case near the Circulation Desk.

Newly redesigned Children's Literature website !

Our popular children's and adolescent literature website has a new home, a new design and an official new name : Storypath ! This site is supported by the William Smith Morton Library and the Christian Education department of Union Presbyterian Seminary.

We have the same great content -- book reviews that connect great stories with our faith story, lesson plans that use children's literature, and weekly posts that link lectionary texts with children's books.

But our new site allows us to add lots of things our readers have been requesting. We have two new indexes (Scripture and theme) that offer new ways of searching for books. We've made it easier to share content there (our readers wanted Pinterest!) and to get quickly to the content that you want the most.

The redesign is primarily the work of UPSem alumna Jessica Rathbun-Cook, who took our readers' suggestions and worked with Ann Knox, Director of the Instructional Resource Center, to create a fresh, clean, easy-to-use site that we hope will continue providing useful tools for ministry. We are grateful to Jessica for her skills and good nature as we worked very hard to make this site a reality.

So come visit Storypath, sign up for notifications when new content is posted, and join the conversation with us around books, faith and ministry.
